We believe in the transforming power
of God.
We believe in the process
of spiritual formation.
And we believe beautiful things happen when we gather around God's table together.
We live in a hurried world full of distractions. To know God and to receive all that He has for us requires time and intentionality. Our desire is to offer a space that is devoted to encountering Him. The Table is a place for longing hearts to come away with God - where, together, we can learn to more deeply rest in Him, allowing Him to shape and mold us into the people we were created to be.
The Table began in 2023 on over 100 acres of rolling hills in Central Kentucky, not far from the state's capital. Open fields, beautiful woods, flowing water ... and perspective that, for whatever reason, seems to be more accessible when we're surrounded by God's beautiful creation.
Our practices aren't new; they're actually pretty ancient. We lean into Scripture. We consider what it means to worship with our whole selves. We creatively explore with the ultimate Creator. We share meals and we enjoy one another - celebrating our uniqueness in God and the strength that we can only find collectively. We find our true selves under the smile of our heavenly Father. We were and are saved by Jesus. And we surrender ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we passionately seek to know and become more like Him. We believe that in doing these things, we become more fully human.
How We Began
For years, we dreamed about cultivating a space like this.
But in 2022, while navigating a very difficult season in our lives, we found ourselves leaning ever so heavily into Jesus, more dependent than ever on His truth, His goodness, and His voice. As we did, He provided all that we needed to find peace and joy in our hardship. He also spoke to us regarding some other things.
Two things became increasingly apparent to us. The first was that God was inviting us to begin building the discipleship school. The second, which felt important in God's invitation, was that we were to begin by offering a summer session for youth. It was a pivot from our original thinking, but we sensed God wanted to do something extravagant for the youth in our area. We felt his desire to offer a relational space of belonging for them, and we sensed that he wanted to give them an opportunity that would, in some special way, express their incredible value to him and to the Body of Christ. We felt privileged to be invited into this beautiful adventure.
So, in the summer of 2023, we offered our first 6-week school to an amazing group of 12-18 years olds. It was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. We had the privilege of hosting 19 incredible students and 3 invaluable interns. By the end of our first week together, we knew God was doing something very special. Soon, the question from the students became ... "you're doing this next year, right?"
Our answer was yes!
The Table: Youth Edition 2024
If The Table is new to you, here's a brief description of how we spend our days together.
Days at TheTable are full of biblical teaching from wonderful trusted teachers, extended times of worship, fun opportunities to explore and create, outdoor activities like kayaking and yard games, interaction with kid-friendly farm animals, and lots of time building biblical community. A delicious lunch is provided for the students each day we meet.
If you're a parent or guardian of a teen, you know how important it is for your child to have a healthy place of relational belonging - a solid group of good friends. That's exactly what so many youth found at The Table last summer.
When Love Finds Love is committed to loving those who have yet to meet Jesus (and we have other initiatives that are focused accordingly), but
The Table is designed for youth who already know Him in some way, seek to grow in relationship with him, and desire friends who will help them move in that direction.

The Details
This summer is going to look a bit different at The Table - Youth Edition, but after much prayer, we are so excited to share the provision that the Lord has made for us!
This year, King's Church (301 Harvard Dr., Lexington) will be our host location! We are so grateful for their hospitality. It's a wonderful, large space with plenty of different room options for our indoor time. There's also lots of outside space for those nice days when we can enjoy some sunshine together!
It will always be important to us to stay true to our vision ... which includes lots of time outdoors. So, though our host site will be at King's Church, we'll also be taking some field trips this year. (Reach out for more details!)
Schedule:
If you or your child were part of The Table - Youth Edition last year, you know that our meeting days were spread out over the course of the summer.
This summer, we're trying something new! The Table - Youth Edition will be two straight weeks (M-F) of back to back Jesus fun - worshiping together, growing together, eating together, creating together and playing together!
Week 1 will be held from June 3rd-June 7th, 10am - 4pm each day. The focus of week 1 will be on identity, calling, and what it means to be part of the family of God. Awesome stuff!
Week 2 will be held from June 10th-June 14th, 10am-4pm each day. The focus of week 2 will be on creating with the Holy Spirit (which comes in so many forms) and connecting with God and others!
*** Applications will be available for students, ages 13-17, beginning on March 10th, 2024. The application window will close on or before May 15th. (We limit the number of students in order to maintain a more personal growth environment.) ***
Cost: The registration cost is
$100/week per youth or $180 for both weeks (family discounts are also available). All payments are due by May 1st.
We will also be accepting a few interns between the ages of 18-22. This is an incredible opportunity for young adults to both serve and be part of a truly transformational experience (for free!). The interns who served with us last year were deeply blessed by their time with us, and we can't imagine last summer without their presence.
An Invitation to Healing, Wholeness and Community
Though the world and religion have often tried to compartmentalize Jesus, the Gospel has always been holistic. It's the most holistic invitation and message on the planet. It's alive and active, because He is alive and active.
At the Table, students can expect to encounter God in new ways and to grow in relationship with Him. Because each student is exquisitely unique, each student's experience will also be unique. But we feel confident that after a summer at The Table, each one will know God more deeply and have journeyed to new depths with Him. That's just what happens when we devote our time to Jesus and fix our eyes on the things of Heaven.
